The 24th - 28th of June 2015, Nike SNKR Studio had an event at Konstnärshuset in Stockholm. For the first time in Europe Nike is opening up a space completely dedicated to women sneaker fans and offered the ultimate sneaker experience.
We had the great honor of creating the artistic element at the event. With starting point in innovation, movement and power, the artists Anny Wang & Tim Söderström - Emilie Mottet & Eric Severin interpreted "Air", a Nike innovation that is for example represented in iconic sneaker models such as Air Max.
The artworks - an interactive 3D-installation, a video and a wallpainting are the results of the interpretation of the sneaker culture, the innovation in Nike Air and are artworks that connects the Nike brand with the relevance of popular culture for young women in Stockholm.
Emilie Mottet (f. 1984) och Eric Severins (f. 1984) animerade videoverk tolkar de specifika egenskaper som karaktäriserar Nike Air - dämpningsfunktionen i sulan som är viktig för både skons flexibilitet och stöd. Konstverket består av abstrakta former och lekfulla rörelser i kombination med olika representationer av ett flertal Air-modeller. De har även skapat en väggmålning utifrån "Anatomy of Air".
Anny Wang (f. 1990) och Tim Söderström (f. 1988) har arbetat utifrån luftbubblan i Nike Airs sula. I deras digitala kalejdoskop har de omvandlat ett flertal olika modeller av Nike Air och omgett dem med just luftbubblor vilket skapar nya former, sammanställningar och tolkningar. Konstverket aktiveras i interaktion med betraktaren som genom en lätt beröring på en trackpad kan förändra rummets hela visuella karaktär.
